Loughton Astronomical Society is the home of astronomy in West Essex. We meet on Thursday evenings between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. in the Scout Hall, off Loughton Lane, Theydon Bois. Visitors are always welcome, no need to call just turn up. Click the “Find us” tab above for travel details.
We welcome all levels of experience. If you are serious, curious, want to learn or just fill an evening then come along. Try one of our observing evenings and look through the telescopes. Sorry we cannot guarantee the weather.
For our younger observers (6-14 years) we have a junior section that meets monthly (except April and August). Click the “Astrokyds” tab above for full details. Please bring a responsible adult.
Meanwhile, why not browse our website, check out our Gallery page or play with the star charts and orreries (blue buttons left).
